What is Pay by Square and which banks support it?

Pay by Square is the Slovak banking standard for QR-coded payments. It works in all Slovak mobile banking apps — Slovenská sporiteľňa, VÚB, Tatra banka, ČSOB, Poštová banka, mBank, 365.bank, OTP, Fio, UniCredit, Prima banka and more. The client makes the payment by scanning the QR code; the details are pre-filled.
Why do I have to enter the recipient's name?

The Pay by Square v1.2.0 spec requires it because every banking app shows it to the client while scanning ("Pay to: PASIQA OÜ"). Without a name, the client wouldn't know who they are sending money to — so the generator requires both an IBAN and a name.
Why are diacritics being stripped?

The Pay by Square spec stores text in 8-bit ASCII (after LZMA compression). Diacritics are converted away — "Faktúra" → "Faktura", "PASIQA OÜ" → "PASIQA OU". It's a limitation of the standard itself, not a generator bug.
How do I use the QR code on an invoice?

Download the 512×512 pixel PNG and drop it into the PDF invoice — typically bottom-right next to the payment details. At ~3 cm width in print it stays reliably scannable. For an online invoice you can use SVG (contact us if you need a different format).
Is it safe? Is my data sent anywhere?

No. The entire generation happens in your browser — no request to our server. The QR code only contains the data you entered; nothing is stored or logged. Check Developer Tools for yourself.
What's the difference between VS, KS and SS?

The variable symbol (VS) identifies a specific payment — typically the invoice number. The constant symbol (KS) marks the type of payment (0308 = goods/services payment). The specific symbol (SS) is used with customers that have multiple accounts (e.g. health insurance companies). For B2B invoices, usually only VS is filled in.
